Accor Group's Online Vacation Contest Offers Southeast Asia To Nature Lovers

The natural wilderness in wondrous Southeast Asia is on offer in a web-based competition for 19 different holiday extravaganzas from France-based hotel giant Accor.

Bangkok, Thailand (PRWEB) February 18, 2008 -- It's a nature lovers' paradise as contestants in Accor Group's online contest have a chance to win three trips to amazing destinations in tropical Southeast Asia.

Part of "The Accor Experience" campaign - http://www.theaccorexperience.com

  • participants are asked to visit a contest website and choose an array of locations around the globe that best suits their holiday desires.

Escape the hustle and bustle of big-city existence and get back to nature with a holiday at one of three Accor tropical resort retreats. Marvel at the rugged mountains and lush verdant jungles of Chiang Mai in Thailand, or explore the deserted beaches and stunning coastlines on the Indonesian islands of Bali and Lombok.

The highlight of Accor's nature theme prize is four nights' accommodation at the beautiful Sofitel Riverside Chiang Mai hotel valued at US$1,600, including a one day trip into the jungle on the back of an elephant, Thailand's national animal.

Chiang Mai, the ancient capital of Thailand's 13th century Lanna Empire,
is home to 300 Buddhists temples. Perched above the city, the golden-spired Wat Phrathat on Doi Suthep mountain is a highpoint of any visit.

Nestled along the banks of the Mae Ping River, Sofitel Riverside Chiang Mai captures the essence of the destination's Lanna ancestry, which subtly appears in its architecture and interior décor.

The most impressive natural sight is Doi Inthanon National Park. It encompasses almost 500 square kilometers of land on Thailand's tallest mountain - 2,565 meters above sea level. It is home to many endemic species of birds, plants, and insects, and it is a crucial wintering ground for migrating birds.

For nature and thrill enthusiasts, guided half-and-full day tours and overnight visits are available. Sight-seeing, mountain-jungle trekking, hiking, white water rafting, kayaking, elephant-back riding, and rock climbing are but a few natural experiences on offer.

Participants who register for "The Accor Experience" contest are asked to send e-mails to friends, family, and colleagues inviting them to join too. For each e-mail sent that results in a visit to the contest website, the sender receives one more chance to win.
