A&W Diamonds Valentine's Day Poem Contest A Big Success

Valentine's Day never slips from the mind of people especially those who are in love. It's always remembered and celebrated by couples whether dating or already married. And who wouldn't because after all, this very special day of hearts comes only once a year.

A&W Diamonds also joins the whole world in celebrating this special occasion of love by coming up with a Valentine's Day Poem Competition through its website http://www.AWDiamonds.com. The poem writing contest, which ended on February 11, 2008, was very successful as it elicited a huge positive response from web users. A&W Diamonds saw it fit to initiate this type of contest being aware that many people in love out there are just hopeless romantics who are not able to express verbally their love thoughts. The poem competition, therefore, is a good avenue for them to put down in writing all the sweet things they want to share with a loved one. And sometimes, creating an original poem is a very romantic way of expressing that very special love.

A&W's poem contest required participants to use the phrase "Heart Diamonds" or "Heart Diamond" at least once in their literary creation with the big winner taking home a beautiful loose diamond in the shape of, what else, a heart. The poem must not exceed 50 lines, must be originally written by the contestant who must be above 18 years old. Each participant must submit his or her poem via the electronic web form along with a name, email address and telephone number. With the submission of the poems, A&W Diamonds claims full rights to publish and/or use them.

After careful selection, one potential poet is picked as the winner. Congratulations to Temple Con for submitting the best romantic poem for Valentine's Day. We share his literary work below. For the rest of the other lovely poems submitted, you may check this link: Valentine's Day Poems.

The Winning Poem:
Precious Because I never dreamt I could love so long, And your love is too precious to lose,
Take my heart, diamond you, lead me on.
Men stand alone, I thought, but I was wrong.
I never knew that love is what we choose, And I never dreamt I could love so long.
Who am I without my beloved one, Subtle and serene as the sky's deep blues?
Take my heart, diamond you, lead me on.
Leave me kisses, tears to make me strong, For deep within my heart there is a bruise.
I never dreamt I could love so long Or ever have the chance to sing this song,
The one you taught me, tender muse.
Take my heart, diamond you, lead me on,
Make me righteous, make me a righteous man.
Every song I sing is nothing without you,
Because I never dreamt I could love so long.
Take my heart, diamond you, lead me on.
