Jerry Shuster, MD, Joins USC Consulting Group's Health Care Practice

Renowned ophthalmic consultant created electronic medical record system.

Tampa, FL (PRWEB) February 21, 2008 -- Jerry N. Shuster, MD, MBA, has joined the USC Consulting Group, LLC (USCCG) health care practice as senior health care consultant.

tDr. Shuster, 54, was an ophthalmic consultant in clinical practice in Orlando, FL, for more than 20 years, during which time Orlando Magazine recognized him as one of central Florida's "Top Doctors" for four consecutive years. He was department chairman and a member of Florida Hospital's Medical Executive Committee and served as director and assistant professor at the University of Florida's Glaucoma Division.

tDr. Shuster is best known in professional circles for developing an electronic medical record (EMR) system designed to improve practice efficiency. The system has been in use for over ten years and serves as a prototype on which future versions can be based. Armed with the understanding of how such an instrument will impact practitioners, Dr. Shuster is well positioned to help with the expected explosion in EMR implementations.

He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Medical Society and the Beta Gamma Sigma Honorary Business Society. He resides in Orlando.
