TouchStar employees donate their time to another successful community spirit activity with a local philanthropic organization, Project Angel Heart (http://www.projectangelheart.org). TouchStar's Community Spirit board chose to partner with Project Angel Heart due to the organization's positive impact on the lives of people who are not able to travel beyond their homes.
Project Angel Heart promotes the health, dignity and self-sufficiency of people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer and other life-threatening illnesses by providing nutritious, home-delivered meals with care and compassion. The organization delivers personally prepared meals to over 700 clients each week.
Steve Bederman, TouchStar CEO, commented, "It is our responsibility to contribute to the communities that we live in. I am very proud of our employees that donated their time to support Project Angel Heart. 2008 is TouchStar's 'Year to Share' and we plan on giving back all that we are capable of giving from many different philanthropic angles. We also intend to inspire other businesses to share."
Bederman personally headed the activity and encouraged employees to participate. Employees volunteered their personal time and vehicles to successfully deliver over 1,275 individually prepared meals to Denver area residents over the course of two Saturday afternoons in January.
