"Business Intelligence Visualization" combines VISTA's experience both in asset management and in Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Combining real estate, facility and infrastructure data with geospatial information, VISTA and its industry-leading software partners ARCHIBUS and ESRI can present asset-related data that dramatically enhances key performance reporting for real property managing organizations.

VISTA will explain its Business Intelligence Visualization capabilities at the ESRI Federal User Conference, held this at the Washington, DC Convention Center. VISTA's capabilities also will be highlighted during the National Guard Construction Facility Management Officer University conference February 24 through March 8, 2008 in New Orleans, LA, and at the ARCHIBUS Users Conference in Washington, DC in April.

"Business Intelligence Visualization is the decision support element that turns data into useable information to support Federal regulatory initiatives," explained VISTA's Vice President for Corporate Development Ray Summerell.

"Increasing government scrutiny into improved management processes requires Federal agencies to develop and maintain key performance indicators as barometers for success," Summerell said. In response, he noted, many government vendors have created new ways to present data.

"Unfortunately, dashboards and similar graphic depictions of reported assets do little more than re-package abstract data," Summerell said. "What is missing is a means of validating reported data by tying these graphic depictions to locations of the assets comprising that data." Business Intelligence Visualization bridges that gap, he added.

"By combining access to both performance and location data for any organization, key performance indicators achieve a new and better capability for decision support, Summerell explained. "As simple examples, if you need to know the best location for new facilities based on demographics and geography, there's no better substitute. For security and space planning, business intelligence visualization gives you a snapshot of your existing facilities and the departments using them - as well as the utilities surrounding those facilities."

"The upshot is better, faster and more efficient asset management decisions. Risk assessment is improved, operations are optimized, and compliance with regulations is made easier," he said. President's Management Agenda initiatives, such as budget and performance integration, also are simplified when you can see the actual assets, not just new ways of graphing related data, Summerell concluded.
