Sea Trail Golf Resort & Convention Center Meeting Professional Elected To Prestigious Post

B.J. Stephens has been elected treasurer for The Society Of Government Meeting Professionals.

Sunset Beach, NC (PRWEB) February 22, 2008 -- Sea Trail Golf Resort & Convention Center meeting professional B.J. Stephens, convention sales manager, has been elected Treasurer for the NC Society of Government Meeting Professionals (NC SGMP) for the 2008-2009 calendar years. Stephens was elected to her new position during a luncheon hosted by Sea Trail in Raleigh, N.C.

SGMP is a non-profit professional organization involved in planning government meetings. It was established in October 1981 and currently stretches across the nation with 28 chapters and more than 3,500 members.

"B.J.'s election as Treasurer highlights her efforts to stay knowledgeable about meeting services and stay current on the latest trends in planning these events. Stephens was also recently elected 2nd Vice President of the General Federation Women's Club of Holden Beach, where she serves as program coordinator and is editor of the club newsletter. Out of 64 new members she was awarded the title of "Rookie of the Year" for her work in 2007.
