Top Grade Construction, Inc., a premier general engineering contractor, today announced the strategic reorganization of key senior management positions designed to streamline and bolster the company's management team, drive revenue growth, increase operational efficiencies and improve overall service to its customers.

As the newly appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Brian Gates will oversee the day-to-day aspects of the company's operations including four regional business units, field services operations and all of Top Grade's business development and marketing functions.

Since joining Top Grade nearly two years ago, Gates has been instrumental in defining the company's long-term vision while building the infrastructure needed to support that vision. Notable accomplishments during his time at Top Grade include the adoption of a new business unit model, the hiring of key management personnel and the implementation of Oracle's industry leading J.D. Edwards enterprise software system. Most recently, Gates served as the company's Vice President of Business Operations.

With more than 15 years of business experience, Gates brings a unique blend of knowledge and expertise in building and fostering customer relationships, as well as the creativity and vision for improving organizational processes and corporate structure. Prior to Top Grade, Gates held various sales and management roles at Oracle and PeopleSoft Inc. where he received an exclusive company ranking and President's Club awards. Gates was also a Sr. Accountant at Deloitte & Touche LLP.

Further rounding out the new management team, Scott Blaine has assumed the role of Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, Blaine will direct the organization's financial, human resources and information technology departments. Blaine has more than 20 years of finance experience in a variety of industries ranging from high-tech to construction. During his career, Blaine has been involved in general management, accounting, financial planning and analysis, risk management as well as business development and business planning.

Prior to joining Top Grade, Blaine most recently served as the Northern California Area Director of Finance with Pulte Homes, Inc. While at Pulte, Blaine streamlined processes and developed metrics to drive increased business productivity. Prior to Pulte, he worked in the high-tech industry with roles ranging from CFO/VP of Finance to General Manager/Head of Business and Strategy Development.

Top Grade's new business units are comprised of five key leaders including John Copriviza, Regional Vice President for the Central Valley, Top Grade veterans Reza Yazdi and Steve Egger, new General Managers and Vice Presidents of Public Works, 15-year Top Grade veteran Bob Fisher, now Executive Vice President for the Greater Bay, and ten year Top Grade veteran Francis Johnson, who has assumed the role of Regional Manager for the West Bay.
