Adobe AIR is a critical component of Tripod Venture's upcoming "Fusion" platform.

Tripod Ventures, a leading provider of unique technology solutions for the retail sector, announced today that it will be leveraging Adobe® AIR™, the new cross operating system application runtime, as a critical component of its upcoming integrated web platform, code named "Fusion".

Slated for debut in late 2008, this revolutionary platform is primed to become the new standard for photo retailers. "Fusion" is a rich Internet application (RIA) that delivers clients a unique user experience for online photo, photo book and photo merchandise orders.

"One of the major hurdles that retailers are facing is how to provide a continuous client experience across both web and kiosk applications," said Vahe Kassardjian, chief technology officer and co-founder of Tripod Ventures. "With the help of Adobe AIR, we are designing our new platform to bridge this gap, creating a very different user experience."

Adobe AIR introduces many new opportunities for the photo market, as it provides retailers with the opportunity to establish a direct, branded connection with their clients by extending the web experience to the desktop. Adobe AIR provides consumers with continuous access to the application from computer, on any operating system, with or without an internet connection. In addition to connectivity, Adobe AIR also facilitates the push of information to users, which can be used to trigger client notifications, and deliver cross-promotions.

Adobe AIR is also instrumental in providing online users with the ability to access local files and to work offline. This allows consumers to prepare documents, orders and projects when and how they wish.
