The weekend will be filled with lots of activities including a Meet and Greet Reception, a Boomer Marketplace and an awards luncheon honoring 12 dynamic boomer divas. There will be karaoke and dance contests and an over 40 Pa-Jammming Party! There will also be a taping of a Town Hall Meeting entitled Boomer Women: Having Our Say, with PBS Station WCEU-TV15

Women from around the country are expected to converge on Daytona Beach, Florida April 18-20, 2008 for what the "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now!" Baby Boomer Girlfriends' Weekend Getaway.

"This trail-blazing event is being created to offer mature women a total empowerment experience," says Baby Boomer Author Beverly Mahone, whose company, BAM Enterprises, is hosting the three-day affair. "After 40, our needs, wants and desires change. This is the weekend where women can throw caution to the wind and do something just for us. This is our version of the boomer spring break."

Mahone says the weekend will be filled with lots of activities including a Meet and Greet Reception, a Boomer Marketplace and an awards luncheon honoring 12 dynamic boomer divas. The guest speaker will be actress Bern Nadette Stanis, who played Thelma on the TV sitcom, Good Times. There will be karaoke and dance contests as well as workshops on topics such as Shifting your Career Gears, Fabulously Fit after Forty; Keeping the Passion Alive; Money Matters; Time Management; Doing it "Diva Style" Image Consulting, Down-sizing your life; The Sandwich Generation of Care Takers, etc.

The taping of a Town Hall Meeting entitled Boomer Women: Having Our Say, with PBS Station WCEU-TV15, is also on tap for the weekend. But the highlight of the weekend, according to Mahone, will be the Over 40 Girlfriends PA-JAMMING PARTY Saturday night.

"The "Ain't No Stoppin Us Now!" theme is appropriate, contends Mahone, because "many women in my age group are meeting challenges head on and we're not letting a little thing like menopause and growing older slow us down. And just like the song says, "we're definitely on the move!"

Tickets for the Saturday events are $30, which includes the Boomer Marketplace, workshops and luncheon. Nominations are also being accepted for the Dynamic Diva Awards.
