Strengthens outsourcing leadership position by helping software companies and game studios get better products to market faster.

bitHeads Inc., a leading software product development outsourcing company, announced today that revenue for its fiscal year ending December 31, 2007 was $13.1 million, up 106% compared to the previous year. Growth was driven by new and expanded product development partnerships with companies in the communications, mobile and games industries.

"The outsourcing strategies of most software companies and game studios are maturing," states Scott Simpson, CEO of bitHeads. "As they experiment more with different forms of outsourcing, they're realizing that new product development requires a tighter partnership approach. That's driving demand for the specialized services we offer. Our expertise in design for usability was also a key factor in our success this past year."

Highlights of the year include:

  • Growth in product development partnerships with Boston-area companies, including Brix Networks, Sonus Networks, Vaultus Mobile Technologies and others;
  • The launch of a new division, called HeadGames, to focus on game development outsourcing and the acquisition of Ottawa and Montreal-based game studio RndLabs; and
  • Recognition as a Top 100 Employer in Canada, inclusion on the global Software 500 list, OCRI 2008 Service of the Year Award finalist, and other awards.
