Caring Calls is a new service designed to help busy adults with personal tasks they don't always have the time to complete. The service will call elderly or disabled loved ones, living alone, to check on their safety and well-being. They have several calling plans to choose from which allows the customer to control how little or how often the loved one is called. They report " Most people choose to have the service place at least one call a day." The service will also ask your loved one if they have remembered to take their medicine, eaten and a few other important questions that promotes well-being. The developers of the service reports, "They have many years of combined experience in the Human Services field and say, we feel there is a need, for many elderly and disabled people living alone, to have more consistent and frequent contact for their own welfare."
If the loved one doesn't answer the call the service will repeat the call twice at twenty minute intervals. The time lapse is in place in case the individual is in the middle of something and can't get to the phone immediately. The client will be able to choose up to three contacts for notification if the loved one can't be reached. However, the service will only call contacts until it has reached one of them.
Caring Calls also offers "Visit Caring Calls" which is a 15-20 minute visit with a loved one. Again the consumer decides how often the calls are placed. They believe people living alone often feel lonely, but with a daily visit, spirits are lifted, moods are improved helping to promote the individual to thrive and provide security for them. Safety and the well-being of the individual is still the main objective and the service will interject a few safety questions into the visit with them. They believe it won't be long before a very special friendship begins.
