NAPTE 2008 was good for Cassie Yde of the Television Syndication Company (TVS) and Christmas at Maxwell's. National Association of Television Program Executives programmers were looking for a good Holiday movie, a Christmas present if you will, and Laufer Film's "Christmas at Maxwell's" fit the bill. TVS is distributing the movie and making arrangement for a national TV syndication. "Christmas at Maxwell's" is based in part on a true story and deals with spirituality and healing. 's Belinda Elliott says "Christmas at Maxwell's is a heartwarming holiday tale that lovingly illustrates the power of faith and the fact that miracles can and do still happen."

Las Vegas and NAPTE were the right combination for Cassie Yde (TVS) to start syndication of Christmas at Maxwell's for Christmas 2008. This year NATPE (National Association of Television Program Executives) programmers were looking for Christmas specials for TVS was there to fill the bill. As the convention in Las Vegas brought together various TV executives, TVS and Laufer Film made "Christmas at Maxwell's" available for syndication for the 2008 Holiday Season. TVS also distributes the movie to international and inflight outlets.

"Christmas at Maxwell's" is often compared to It's a Wonderful Life, as they both show men saved from despair at Christmastime, with the aid of divine intervention." says Peggy Moen of the Wanderer. Inspired by a true story, the "Christmas at Maxwell's" DVD is attracting media attention as well as critical and audience rave reviews.

"Christmas at Maxwell's" is quickly becoming a classic holiday movie. This Dove Foundation Award winning PG-rated holiday film is connecting with audiences from young to old.

Andrew May, a Tom Hanks look alike and fellow Great Lakes Theater Festival alum, plays the lead part of Andrew Austin. Food Channel personality Jacqueline "Jack" Hourigan (a McGill graduate) is his wife in the movie. Hourigan's credits include How to Boil Water on the Food Network, Second City Cleveland, Ready as She Grows and Ready as he Grows host on DIY Network and Three Takes (Slice TV). Helen Welch is the singer, song-writer actress who helps to complete the cast.
