Bill Unyi, founder of, speaks about the success their online store has had since adding Airfree Products to their website late last year. He speaks to the differences between HEPA Air Purifiers and Airfree's Air Sterilizers. Unyi also breaks down the differences between Airfree's products.

Business has been great for Air Purifiers Direct 2U since they added Airfree products to their powerful air purifier line-up last fall. "I can't keep them on the shelf!" quips Unyi. "Airfree has a great product and our increase in overall sales is largely due to the addition of Airfree air purifiers to our website. We want our customers to know the benefits of both types of air purifier products we sell."

Airfree claims that its Airfree Air Purifiers are, "The Most Tested Air Purifiers in The World." Some of their competitors may argue that statement, but Airfree provides all the test results for their customers to see. "Airfree does not hide behind some generalized statements like some other air purifier companies do. They put their test results right out there on their internet website for anyone to see and that lets customers make a more informative decision when buying their products," states Unyi. "Sometimes companies make statements about their products on the internet or in their advertising and expect consumers to take it as gospel. It's nice when a company actually puts its money where its mouth is and shows us what's behind the curtain," Unyi adds.

And for argument's sake, Airfree really doesn't have anything to hide. They make a solid product that does what it says it does. Airfree calls their products Airfree Air Sterilizers because that's what they do and that makes them a little different than your standard air purifier that's on the market. Airfree Air Sterilizers use a patented TSS (Thermodynamic Sterilizing System) Technology to sterilize and purify the air. It works by heating up the normal airflow that runs through the unit to a temperature of 400 Degrees Fahrenheit. That temperature is contained within the unit and adds very little heat to the exterior of the product. A by-product of this air sterilization is that it kills 99.99% of the microorganisms that pass through the unit. Bacteria, viruses, mold and mildew spores, and fungi are just some of the air pollutants that incinerated within the unit once activated.

The great thing about the Airfree products is that they are totally maintenance-free and completely silent. All you do it plug it into an outlet and it does all the work from there. No filters or UV bulbs to replace. This is the main difference between the Airfree products and your standard HEPA Filter Air Purifiers. HEPA air purifiers use a combination of a fan, pre-filter, HEPA filter, and carbon-based filter to purify the air in a selected area of a home or office. HEPA air purifier technology differs from Airfree's TSS Technology in that HEPA is able to remove a lot more standard pollutants from the air such as dust, pet dander, smoke, and odors and keep them trapped in the filters. Airfree technology is able to sterilize some of these pollutants as well, but not nearly as well as a HEPA air purifier. "A combination of both of these technologies used together in a home or office would do wonders for air purification in the areas they were used," Unyi adds. "HEPA air purification technology is not for everyone and is not needed for certain personal circumstances. That's where Airfree finds its niche to fill the gap for those customers."

Airfree currently has three air sterilization units on the market and they are reasonably priced for consumers. Each unit is basically the same in shape, but each product differs in color and the amount of space that it can sterilize. The Airfree P1000 Air Purifier handles the least amount of space and can handle areas of 450 square feet or less for maximum proficiency. Next is the Airfree P2000 or Platinum 2000 Air Purifier. The P2000 offers up to 550 square feet of protection. Finally, the newest product from Airfree, the Airfree P3000 or Onix Air Purifier can effectively sterilize up to 650 square feet of space. The P3000 offers the most protection from any of the Airfree products. All three units each sell for under $300 a piece making them affordable for anyone's budget.

"Some people just don't want the hassle of changing filters and bulbs when they purchase an air purifier," concludes Unyi. "Airfree products make it easy for us to offer some customers an alternative to HEPA air purifiers when the situation presents itself."
