Hanley Wood e-Media, a division of Hanley Wood, LLC, announced today two of its online properties have been named finalists in min's Best of the Web Awards 2007. This award, presented by Media Industry Newsletter, min's b2b and min magazine, is the industry's top honor in the digital space, recognizing outstanding Web sites and digital initiatives among consumer and business-to-business magazines.
"It is our goal to provide the building industry with the most comprehensive online destinations for the construction industry," said Peter Goldstone, President, Hanley Wood Business Media. "These awards signify that our dedication to excellence is recognized by peers, as well as by residential and commercial construction professionals, who have made our sites the most popular construction destinations on the Web."
Hanley Wood's BuildTV, a dynamic online video platform providing weekly news and information on current trends and best business practices in the residential and commercial construction industries, is a finalist in the video category for online B-to-B Web sites. This award recognizes overall use of video on a Web site.
BUILDTV, launched in 2007, features a custom-designed media player designed specifically to accommodate advertising and to include additional related program episodes. The player window includes a video player with basic controls, sponsor branding, an archive of previous episodes and other resource links. Upon opening, the current feature auto-plays in the launch window, beginning with a sponsor pre-roll video. Each video includes a title, short description and duration/time. The video archive also retains these components.
ARCHITECT Online is a finalist in the design category. ARCHITECT Online is a lively forum where architects can exchange ideas, discuss work, share inspiration, and learn new business behind their art. The Web site provides original content and articles pulled directly from ARCHITECT magazine, while also providing architects with the ability to interact with one another through blogs, online forums and interactive project galleries. Launched in 2006 at the same time as Hanley Wood's ARCHITECT magazine, ARCHITECT Online is visited each month by over 53,000 professional architects seeking a comprehensive online resource of insight, information and ideas that help inspire their designs, enhance their practice, manage their business and connect with their peers.
