Word On the Streets Magazine Launches Online Social Network Site

Urban grassroots power house word on the streets magazine launches online with their new website wordonthestreetsmag.com and promises to be the music social network of the Atlanta urban music scene.

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) March 25, 2008 -- Urban grassroots power house 'word on the streets' magazine launches online with their new website wordonthestreetsmag.com and promises to be the music social network of the Atlanta, GA urban music scene.

Publisher and CEO Isis Wisdom, who has had the long standing digital magazine for five years now, takes it on a social network level says the multimedia grassroots mogul. "I started the magazine back in 2003 and it started off as a digital e-mag which still comes out twice a month. It went from 10,000 subscribers to 335000 digital e-mag subscribers and we also service over 6000 media outlets world wide. I feel like the social network sites is the way to go now. I remember when Myspace first came out I was thinking to myself the guy who put this together is going to make a lot of money in a few years and I was right."

The website has all of the same criteria as the magazine with different categories that touch on politics, film, fashion, music, and community. I like to relate to the common folk so I will probably keep it on a grassroots level. As far as any plans to take it any further then that we shall see what advertisers do to assist in that

On the website users can upload music, videos, photos and even have people rate their music and videos to appear on the front page of the site. They also have columnist and bloggers and forums on the site to stimulate the mind or users can use their own personal blog on the site and make it personal to themselves. "I just wanted to create a space for my fans to read my work and get a little closer to me. Also I wanted independent artist and record labels to network on the site and that is exactly what they have been doing," states Wisdom.
