SharePoint Solutions, a national leader in Microsoft SharePoint Products and Technologies training, consulting and add-on software, has authored a new three-day course titled Mission: Automation -- SharePoint Workflow and InfoPath. The course is designed to teach students how to automate common business processes using Office SharePoint Server 2007 Workflows, Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Designer 2007.

The first class will be held March 18-20 in Dallas. The three-day course will run monthly, rotating through locations in Nashville, Dallas, Chicago, Denver and Seattle.

"The goal of this instructor-led course is to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to take advantage of InfoPath 2007, Forms Server 2007 and Workflows in SharePoint Server 2007 for the purpose of automating business processes," said Jeff Cate, founder and president of SharePoint Solutions.

In addition, e-mail-enabled lists and advanced features of the data view web part will be explored, along with other technologies related to process automation.

Student learning will be facilitated through a combination of instructor presentations and hands-on lab exercises. A sample company will be used in the labs to teach students how to integrate these technologies to automate business processes. The Mission: Automation course is geared to information workers and IT professionals who want to learn how to use the out-of-the-box workflow features of SharePoint Server 2007.

According to Cate, the typical environments these professionals work in are medium-to-large organizations that desire to use SharePoint Server 2007 to improve and automate business processes. The majority of the course will be applicable to all students, regardless of which edition of SharePoint Server 2007 they are using. However, a few lessons in the course will only be applicable to students who are from companies that are using SharePoint Server 2007 Enterprise Edition or one of the other versions of SharePoint Server 2007 that has also been supplemented with Microsoft Office Forms Server 2007.

He stressed that the course will teach out-of-the-box functionality and is not intended for those who are primarily interested in using Visual Studio and .NET development to create workflow solutions in SharePoint Server 2007.
