Beverly Hills, CA (PRWEB) March 5, 2008 -- David's Shoes of Beverly Hills is running its fourth semiannual shoe trade-in event with the Nashville based non-profit Soles4Souls. From February 18th to March 9th, customers who donate a pair of gently worn shoes will receive 15% off any regular priced item in the store. Customers of the small Southern California based chain, with locations in Beverly Hills, the South Bay, Westlake Village and Calabasas, are encouraged to collect pairs of shoes from members of their families as well as from their own closets. Shoes that are donated are then boxed up and shipped to Soles4Souls' Las Vegas warehouse.
David's Shoes owner David Jassem is excited for the opportunity to work with Soles4Souls again. Jassem first learned of the nonprofit in 2006 through the WSA, the World Shoe Association, and jumped at the chance to join the effort to collect shoes for donation. "Soles4Souls is a great charity," Jassem says, "and the response from our customers has been overwhelming! In the past few years we have collected hundreds of pairs of shoes from customers who are eager to clean out their closets. Customers love having the chance to do some good while updating their wardrobes with the season's newest looks."
"We are excited that David's Shoes is acting on our behalf to help us reach needy people both here in the United States and around the world," said Wayne Elsey, CEO and Founder of Soles4Souls. "It is only because of caring partners like David's Shoes that we are able to accomplish our goal of getting shoes on the feet of people who need them most," he said. Soles4Souls was created in the wake of the devastating tsunami that struck Southeast Asia in 2004. Over the past four years, its mission has been to help as many people in as many places around the world through the donation of shoes. After collecting a quarter of a million pairs of shoes for the tsunami victims, Soles4Souls was ready and waiting to help those affected by hurricane Katrina, sending three-quarters of a million pairs of shoes to be distributed to the gulf coast communities. Since its incorporation as a 501(c)(3) charity in 2006, Soles4Souls has sent millions of pairs of shoes to over forty countries on five continents.
