The conference runs from March 5th through March 7th at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Plymouth, Minnesota. Thompson-Banko will be speaking on March 5th from 1:15-2:10.

Thompson-Banko's presentation will focus on the definition and role of health care retail and the necessary steps to ensure success. "It should be a seamless integration between physicians, clinicians, caregivers and community," says Thompson-Banko. She will discuss how to build and develop incremental revenue streams by converting non-revenue space into revenue producing square footage. "Hospitals have high traffic and captive audiences," says Thompson-Banko. "The goal is to capture this consumer traffic and give the customers convenient locations to purchase their health care retail." Thompson-Banko will also stress the importance of offering cash-and-carry products, including health & care, convenience and gift items, as part if this retail system. Each retail system is customized to fit a hospital's culture and community; it is not a one-size-fits-all strategy.
