Perfume Bay Evolves Into Beauty Encounter
The Web site for all things beauty, BeautyEncounter.com, débuts new name and look.
Huntington Beach, CA (Vocus/PRWEB ) March 4, 2008 -- The e-tailer known as Perfume Bay has become part of Beauty Encounter as a result of a four-year legal battle with eBay over trademark dilution and infringement. The courts ruled that Perfume Bay needed to change its URL to prevent confusion by consumers. Rather than appeal to the Supreme Court and continue its David and Goliath fight, the company decided to evolve the brand to reflect its growing product offering.
“Since we can no longer use the domain www.Perfumebay.com, we decided to evolve the brand to offer a superior online fragrance and beauty shopping experience,” said CEO Jacquelyn Tran. “I plan to maintain my Perfume Bay trademark and make www.BeautyEncounter.com the website where our customers shop.”
The Beauty Encounter experience offers customers more functionality and site enrichments than they received with Perfume Bay. Now with a new name that better reflects the incredibly deep selection of products offered, customers can enjoy discovering hundreds of name brand fragrances and thousands of cosmetics, skincare products, hair care products and beauty accessories.
In addition to selection, Beauty Encounter’s focus is on providing hard-to-find items, exclusive brands and international brands. Loyal and new customers will receive the same attentive customer service and secure shopping experience they’ve come to expect with Perfume Bay, but now with an improved functionality and more interactive platform.
