Robinson & Associates CEO to Discuss High Cost of Employee Turnover, Low Morale at April NIGA Show

The high cost of casino employee turnover and low employee morale will be discussed by the chief executive officer of Robinson & Associates, Inc., at the April 2008 trade show of the National Indian Gaming Association.

Annapolis, MD (PRWEB) March 6, 2008 -- The high cost of casino employee turnover and low employee morale will be discussed by Martin R. Baird, chief executive officer of Annapolis, Md.-based Robinson & Associates, Inc., (http://www.advocatedevelopmentsystem.com) during the April 2008 trade show of the National Indian Gaming Association.

Titled "$5,000 Per Employee - Stop the Money Pit," Baird's presentation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. April 23 and is tailored for general managers, human resources directors and chief financial officers. The NIGA show will be held April 20-23 in San Diego.

"Cornell University research shows that the cost of replacing an employee in the hospitality industry is more than $5,000," Baird says. "Casino executives should calculate the number of employees who have left their property over the last 12 months. At $5,000 per person to replace them, how much did that take away from profits?"

Baird also will discuss four categories that employees fall into that cost casinos money. "One of the categories is 'trapped,'" Baird says. "That is not the worst one for a casino, but it may be for the property's guests." Trapped employees hate their jobs, the hours they work and even the guests they serve, but they won't leave because they are addicted to their pay, Baird says. "They could be costing their casino substantially more than $5,000," Baird notes.
