ODBMS are inherently compatible with the demands of data fusion applications, and the synergy between the two is yielding faster, more reliable methods for monitoring and analyzing complex data and determining the optimal response
Sunnyvale, CA (PRWEB) March 6, 2008
Objectivity, Inc. CTO Leon Guzenda will share his extensive knowledge of emerging data fusion trends made possible by object-oriented technology at the International Conference on Object Databases (ICOODB) on March 14 in Berlin, Germany.
The conference, hosted by the Object Management Group, Object Database Management Group and ODBMS.org, will bring the world's leading experts in object-oriented technology together to present forums and workshops that highlight the benefits of object databases and explore the variety of ways ODBMS can be leveraged to create more efficient, higher performance applications.
Guzenda's workshop, 'Using an Advanced ODBMS for Distributed Data Fusion,' will provide participants with an in-depth examination of how distributed object-oriented database management systems (ODBMS) can enable massively scalable, real-time data fusion applications. Such systems are already being deployed in multiple industries, from Government Intelligence to Process Control and Automation, and Guzenda says that their prevalence will continue to increase rapidly for the foreseeable future.
"ODBMS are inherently compatible with the demands of data fusion applications, and the synergy between the two is yielding faster, more reliable methods for monitoring and analyzing complex data and determining the optimal response," Guzenda said.
Guzenda is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of object-oriented database technology. He was one of the founding members of Objectivity in 1988 and one of the original architects of Objectivity/DB, the company's flagship product. Prior to starting Objectivity, he managed the development of the ODBMS for the Cimplex solid modeling and numerical control system at Automation Technology Products. He has also worked on major projects for NATO and leading multinationals.
A note on Objectivity/DB
Objectivity/DB has a fully scalable, SOA-compatible distributed processing architecture that manages localized, centralized or distributed databases by synthesizing large, complicated streams of data into a single logical view, enabling real-time data collection and analysis.
ICOODB 2008 is the first international conference on object databases in this century. It is a unique opportunity for scientists, the industry, developers and students to meet in person and exchange insights on object databases. This conference is aimed at people with an interest in object databases, in innovative ways to bring objects and databases together and in alternatives / extensions to relational databases / mappers (source: odbmsjournal.org).
