http://www.NaturalBeautyMinerals.net is a remarkable new online distributor of natural cosmetics -- brands of make-up that contain pure and healthy ingredients that make skin healthy rather than causing harm. With chemical ingredients becoming a growing concern amongst consumers, Natural Beauty Minerals seeks to offer customers an alternative to the questionable compounds of commercial make-up.
"One of the things I am most concerned about is the purity of the products," explains owner Stephen Howard, "because that's critically important. 60% of what you put on your skin is absorbed into your body. We don't want to end up putting junk on our skin and killing ourselves to make ourselves look beautiful."
A professional herbalist, Stephen began his study of naturopathic remedies after undergoing knee replacement surgery due to destructive arthritis. "I started taking herbs to overcome the condition, and then started recommending them to my friends," he says. "One thing led to another, and the next thing I knew, I had a store."
Stephen has operated his store for ten and a half years, and has long been interested in natural cosmetics. "I had been looking for cosmetic products to put in my store. The problem was, which ones do you choose, and what colors do you choose? I found a distributor who had products that are chemical-free and all-natural, and decided that the way I wanted to market them was to put them up on the web."
In addition to his product lines, Stephen has begun an informational blog at http://www.RealBeautyMinerals.com, where he provides customers with information about the products they purchase both on and off his site. "I'll be using my blog to contact my customers and to give them new information they may not know about cosmetics and healthy uses for cosmetics," says Stephen. "The products we use are micronized minerals, and they help your skin. They're good for many things, such as the aftereffects of chemical peels -- they help cover up the results of the peel so your skin looks flawless."
Stephen is very candid when discussing his products, as well as standard cosmetics. "If you check the web site, you'll see the other manufacturers' ingredients, and some of them are frightening," he explains, and the list is quite daunting; the items run the gamut from mildly disturbing to somewhat alarming. "I'm very fussy. I won't put junk in my store. All of the products in the store are natural; there are no synthetics, nothing made in laboratories. I'm very particular about the quality of the merchandise I sell."
Beyond his encyclopedic knowledge of herbs and natural medicine, Stephen also gives back to the community directly, supporting wildlife and environmental funds, Toys for Tots, Hospice, and a local soup kitchen. This is an extension of his care for his customers and for users of his products, as he does his best to look out for others in life. "I'm concerned about people's health," says Stephen. "I want them to be as healthy as they can possibly be, so they can live a long and happy life."
