Computer Lab International (CLI), a 20-year veteran in thin client computing, announced the availability of its new ST6500 series thin client. The ST6500 features high-resolution dual monitor support, as well as integrated serial, parallel and USB expansion slots, plus optional Wi-Fi and smart card support.

Computer Lab International (CLI), a 20-year veteran in thin client computing, today announced the availability of its new ST6500 series thin client -- a powerful, yet very efficient "green", dual-video ready thin client. Powered by a VIA Eden® C7 processor, this thin client delivers substantial performance increase over previous models. The ST series is optimized for desktop virtualization, terminal services, digital signage and kiosk environments.

What sets the ST6500 series apart from other thin clients is that it comes with an intrinsically secure, highly optimized, customizable Windows XP Embedded operating system ideal for embedding unique customer applications, customized Kiosk configurations, VMware® Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), Citrix® Application Delivery and Microsoft® Windows Terminal Server software.

Based on recent IDC reports, thin clients are projected to represent an ever increasing amount of the desktop market. Much of this growth is due to virtual desktop technologies and use of thin clients in kiosk, and other self service applications. The ever maturing virtual desktop market is driving enterprises to replace traditional desktop PCs with like thin clients.

The ST series features high-resolution dual monitor support, giving users the ability to connect two displays simultaneously as well as integrated serial, parallel and USB expansion slots providing flexible peripheral support, plus optional Wi-Fi and smart card support.

In addition to our standard, highly secure, easy to manage firmware builds, special builds are available such as Kiosk, .Net, Firefox®, Sun® Java JVM/JRE, Microsoft® Office Viewers and many more that allow for instant implementations and tremendous ease of use for the customer.

The ST series gives users a no-compromise PC experience on a thin client while offering customization for unique applications such as Kiosk and customer-specific applications. "Virtually all the latest desktop provisioning and virtualization software is support ed," said Michael Franke, Technical Director for CLI. "We make it easy for customers to customize, integrate and deploy insuring the customer on-time deployments with immediate return on investment, and provide our customers responsive, USA-based support."

CLI thin clients are some of the most energy efficient thin clients on the market. Many use less than 1/10th of the energy compared to a PC, with less to recycle and RoHS compliant components ensure toxic chemicals are not released into our environment.
