Caspers Company McDonald's Celebrates 50 Years

Media Breakfast and Ribbon Cutting to be Held in Honor of First Tampa Bay McDonald's location.

Tampa, FL (PRWEB) March 9, 2008 -- Fifty years ago Fritz Casper, his wife Mary Jane, daughter Shirley, sons Tom and Joe left Illinois in their station wagon and headed to Florida to open Tampa's very first McDonald's. This flagship McDonald's opened in March of 1958 on South Dale Mabry, near MacDill Air Force Base.

Fast forward 50 years and this first location is now one of 188 McDonald's in the Tampa Bay area. 51 of those restaurants are owned and operated by Caspers Company.

Fritz Casper started Caspers Company in 1958 with his first McDonald's on South Dale Mabry. In 1976 Fritz transferred ownership to his children, including Joe Casper, who bought out his siblings in 1980 to assume sole ownership of Caspers Company. Joe took the helm with a great vision in mind for the company and expanded the business and became one of McDonald's largest and most respected franchise organizations.

Sadly, in 1995, the founding father of Caspers Company, Fritz Casper passed away. Demonstrating the cycle of life, a third generation of the Caspers Family joined the business in 1996, when Joe's children, Allison Casper Adams and Blake Casper, along with Joe's son-in law, Robby Adams enter the Second Generation McDonald's Operator training program (McDonald's did not have a Third Generation Operator training program).

In 2005, Joe Casper passed away, but his spirit of innovation, determination and commitment to excellence live on in his family, friends and the company he built. With 51 McDonald's restaurants throughout the Tampa Bay area, Blake Casper and Allison Casper Adams and their almost 5,000 employees deliver that commitment to thousand of customers each and every day.

Blake and Allison's vision for Caspers Company is based firmly in the solid principles of business and community learned from Joe, while at the same time looking forward with razor sharp focus to innovation, strategic growth and a commitment to excellence.

On March 8th at 8:00 am, Caspers Company will host a media breakfast at the McDonald's located at 3515 South Dale Mabry in order to share in the celebration of their 50 years in Tampa Bay. Media will have an opportunity to tour the area's first McDonald's and ask Blake Casper and Allison Casper Adams any questions about the anniversary. Shortly after the ribbon cutting and dedication, the restaurant will begin preparing for their "Back in the Day" event, featuring 1958 prices on select items.
