Successful Testing Demonstrates Commitment to Providing Carriers with Best-of Breed Solutions for the WiMAX Core

With the built-in capability to enforce an operator's content and application-oriented service policies, WiChorus Intelligent Home Agent provides the means for an operator to generate new revenues and manage its network resources smartly and cost effectively

WiChorus, provider of the industry's most scalable Intelligent Wireless Core Platforms for WiMAX™ and LTE networks, today announced that it has successfully completed interoperability testing (IOT) of its Intelligent Home Agent (HA) solution with the Bridgewater Systems™ AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting) Service Controller. The WiChorus Home Agent solution is fully compliant with the WiMAX Forum® Network Working Group (NWG) specification.

"The successful completion of interoperability testing between our industry-leading AAA Service Controller and this new breed of Intelligent 4G Home Agent reinforces our commitment to offering our customers best-of-breed choices within a broad WiMAX ecosystem," said Farshid Mohammadi, vice president product line management for Bridgewater Systems. "Through this collaboration, we are facilitating the growth of the WiMAX industry and fostering an environment that encourages innovation and choice of deployment environments."

This most recent interoperability testing between the Bridgewater® AAA Service Controller and the WiChorus Intelligent Home Agent follows similar interoperability testing completed in 2007 with the WiChorus Intelligent ASN Gateway solution based on the WiMAX Forum NWG specification.

WiChorus continues to lead the charge in driving interoperability efforts to speed the deployment of Mobile WiMAX™ networks. In conjunction with its industry-leading One Open WiMAX initiative, WiChorus has developed the industry's most extensive WiMAX Forum NWG interoperability testing capabilities available today. The company collaborates with a wide variety of vendors throughout the mobile ecosystem with the goal of transforming a traditionally closed wireless core into an open, horizontal model that spurs innovation, competition, and choice for carriers.

"With the built-in capability to enforce an operator's content and application-oriented service policies, WiChorus Intelligent Home Agent provides the means for an operator to generate new revenues and manage its network resources smartly and cost effectively," said Rehan Jalil, President and CEO of WiChorus. "We designed this new class of Intelligent Home Agent for the needs of WiMAX and upcoming 4G networks. We also ensured that it's compliant with WiMAX Forum NWG specifications and that it interoperates with market leading WiMAX AAA solutions, such as Bridgewater's AAA Service Controller."

WiChorus is driving open standards through its participation in the WiMAX Forum and its industry-leading One Open WiMAX initiative. The goal of this initiative is to promote fully open WiMAX standards and demonstrate multi-vendor interoperability across the entire mobile ecosystem. WiChorus has developed an extensive family of test and simulation tools, an advanced test-lab facility, and software components to assist vendors in delivering fully interoperable, open WiMAX solutions.

Following the IOT program, WiChorus and Bridgewater will continue to work closely to deliver complementary market-leading solutions for their global customer bases.
