Rubylee Miller has just opened her online gift store at http://www.nana9toes.com, offering a vast catalog of creative knickknacks and home decorations as well as her own handicrafts. "I wanted to be able to provide a large selection of gifts," she explains, "and I especially wanted to have a showcase for my own products -- hand-crocheted afghans and handcrafted polar bears."
Although she is disabled, Rubylee still wanted to run her own business, so she looked to the Internet. "Smart buyers utilize the web for just about everything, including gift buying," says Rubylee. "I wanted to be able to participate in that market. I can work my own hours in the comfort of my home without worrying about missing a sale."
Rubylee hasn't let age or disability prevent her from getting what she wants. "I'm adventurous and willing to take calculated risks, even at my age. I'm determined to be successful. I want to be known as a business owner who represents a quality product in an ethical manner."
While the site features a wide selection of knickknacks, home décor items, and other gifts, Rubylee's passion lies with her own personal crafts. "I create a variety of hand-crocheted items," she explains. "I feature personal-sized afghans in a wide variety of colors. I also offer pot holders, hats, and scarves. I also make Polar Bears -- stuffed bears about 15" high with googlely eyes. They are very squeezable, and quite good for adult survivors of abuse or addiction."
Rubylee has also implemented a blog at http://www.nana9toes.net, where she can discuss her site and products with customers. "I will be using my blog to keep my customers informed of new products and new services," says Rubylee. "I'm always open to discussing any number of subjects. I love to communicate and look forward to an open forum-type blog. I firmly believe that folks who talk together will eventually shop together -- building trust is imperative to building a business."
As a promotion for her new store, Rubylee is offering a $10.00 gift card to first-time buyers, as well as a 20% discount on purchases of $50 or more.
