Stonyfield Farm, World's Largest Organic Yogurt Maker, is Certified Gluten Free

The Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO) announced today that it has certified the majority of Stonyfield Farm yogurt and milk products as gluten-free.

All of Stonyfield Farm yogurts, smoothies, and soy-yogurts - except for YoBaby Plus Fruit & Cereal, YoKids Squeezers, Oikos Greek Yogurt, and frozen yogurt - are certified gluten-free by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO). And the company is in the process of getting other products certified as well.

"We didn't change these yogurts, smoothies, and soy-yogurts to make them gluten-free," says Stonyfield Farm President and CE-Yo Gary Hirshberg. "The only change is that we've completed the certification process administered by the GFCO and can now officially say 'gluten-free.' It's a certification we welcome, since we can now tell our consumers with gluten intolerance (celiac disease) that they can enjoy these foods without worry."

GFCO standards are met through a rigorous process of third-party audits and frequent product and ingredient testing at the manufacturing facility and from consumer shelves by GFCO. GFCO sets strict standards that finished products may not contain more than 10 ppm gluten, twice as strict as the proposed FDA and Codex definitions for gluten free.
