Aspen, CO (PRWEB) March 14, 2008
Two Leaves and a Bud (http://www.twoleavesandabud.com), the tea company with whole leaf organic tea sachets for "a better cuppa' tea", is pleased to announce the introduction of Organic African Sunset Red Tea. This rooibos (red bush or red tea) caffeine-free herbal tea will be supplied by a small farmers' cooperative in South Africa; it will be the first tea launched in North America from The Trust Organic Small Farmers Alliance (TOSFA).
"We are proud to work with the Wupperthal cooperative in South Africa to harvest the rooibos. These are truly small farmers each holding less than 2 acres of land. Two Leaves is proud to be part of this effort and we're sure you will enjoy a better cup of tea because of it," says Richard Rosenfeld, president of Two Leaves and a Bud and a founding member of TOSFA.
The TOSFA is a unique initiative, founded by producers, traders and non-government organizations (NGOs) from around the world. The TOSFA works within existing Fair Trade labeling and organic certification procedures to help small farmers overcome the disadvantages that they face.
African Sunset tea will debut at Expo West Natural Products Show, March 14-16 2008. Visit Booth #4488.
Other exciting company developments include the introduction of three new Super Fruit Teas and the conversion to Certified Organic of White Rose (White Peony) and High Mountain Chai.
African Sunset is a 100% organic herbal tea blend, which includes organic rooibos (red tea), organic lemongrass and lemon peel. Rooibos is a naturally caffeine free tea and like green tea, contains significant amounts of antioxidants, iron, potassium, magnesium, copper, calcium, manganese and fluoride.
About Two Leaves and a Bud organic tea sachets:
Tea is like fine wine. Two Leaves and a Bud uses only teas that are grown in single geographic regions using traditional growing methods. The quality of tea varies from hillside to hillside. Their experienced tasters select only the finest estates. Two Leaves never blend with less expensive filler teas. The finest teas start with just the very small blossoms -- the two leaves and a bud of the tea flower. The company was named for these shoots, which are the essence of tea.
Two Leaves and a Bud Tea Sachets offer only the finest full leaf teas with the handiness of a tea bag. But it's what's inside the bag that counts and Two Leaves only blends with the highest quality teas.
It seems that there has been a long link between tea and life in the mountains. Richard Rosenfeld traveled extensively in Asia and India, but was frustrated by the lack of good tea in North America. He started Two Leaves and a Bud Tea Company in 2002 to bring great Single Region teas to tea drinkers here. Two Leaves and a Bud Tea Company is based in the Roaring Fork Valley of Colorado, just down the road from Aspen where snowy mornings, even in the summer, are not uncommon and everyone drinks a lot of tea. Because he couldn't find the high quality teas that he so enjoyed in Asia and India, he founded Two Leaves and a Bud to bring that experience home and to share it with you.
In Search of a Great Cup of Tea
Tea was not always front and center for Richard Rosenfeld, founder of Two Leaves and a Bud Tea Company, rather it was the teacup. At age 24, Rosenfeld created Ten Strawberry Street Ltd., a fashion home wares brand, one of the first companies to bring bright color to tableware. Recognizing the growth and opportunities in private label, he sold the company and founded Aspen International Trading, Aspen, Colorado, a sourcing and product development firm for major retailers and brands of tableware, decorative ceramics, baskets and giftware throughout the world. Today, the company has offices in Aspen, Denver, London, China, Bangladesh and Poland. In 2002, Two Leaves and a Bud was launched and the teas have received praise and awards from around the world, including a Best New Product award for 2005-2006 from the Specialty Coffee Association for outstanding Tea Products & Tea.
