Planet Tan to Expand Operations with Six New Locations

Planet Tan, home of Dallas/Fort Worth's premier tanning super centers, and the most respected brand in the industry, announced today that it will be expanding operations with six new locations in North Texas. The new salons are planned for McKinney, Murphy, Little Elm, West Plano and one site yet to be determined.

Founder and CEO, Tony Hartl, is also considering franchise locations outside of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. "With strong and steady growth in North Texas, I am looking to build on our success in other markets," said Hartl. Austin is just one of the markets that Hartl is considering for his first franchise endeavor.

Planet Tan currently owns and operates fourteen locations in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Their formula for success has been building spacious retail centers (up to 3,500 sq. ft.), and hiring experienced general managers to operate their salons seven-days-a-week.

Planet Tan is the official tanning center for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, Dallas Mavericks Dancers, and the Dallas Stars Planet Tan Ice Girls. They are the leader in tanning super centers, operating 15 locations in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.    Planet Tan has been recognized on the SMU "Dallas 100" list as one of the fastest growing privately held businesses in Dallas, and was selected as the "Best Place to Work in DFW" by the Dallas Business Journal in 2006 and 2007. Looking Fit® magazine ranked Planet Tan in their "Top 250" - the top 1% of tanning centers in North America. The company has also been included in the Inc. 5000 magazine 2007 list of 5000 fastest growing companies in America. The company was founded in 1995 by Tony Hartl, and is based in Garland, Texas.
