ETS Laboratories and BevTrac Mobile Quality Systems are proud to announce a collaboration to bring real time genetic detection directly to wineries through installation of ETS Laboratories’ Real-time Scorpions™ technology in BevTrac’s mobile wine laboratory. The collaboration offers the unique advantage of bringing this new, real-time analysis onsite at wineries, enabling winemakers the ability to rapidly detect potential spoilage organisms before they cause sensory defects.

ETS Laboratories’ Real-time Scorpions™ assays are based on amplification of genetic markers specific to each organism. These assays enable detection of spoilage organisms at much lower levels than can be observed with standard microscopic examinations, and take a fraction of the time that conventional plating does.
