The new version with its impressive set of enhancements would make project management a lot easier for its users.
Smartworks team has been conducting surveys during the past one year about the set of features the customers want the most.
Pankaja Kadawad, the product manager of Smartworks speaking on the occasion of releasing the 4.9 version said her team has implemented all the "most wanted" features from the survey. She said customers would see a perceptible change in terms of ease of use and improved performance in Smartworks Project Planner 4.9.
Project Planner can Import and read the MS project generated files. With the new release, the Project Planner can view files generated by MS project 2000 and above also. With this release Project planner will be able to export the files to MPX format, which can be read by both MS project and Primavera.
The range of resolution in which the Gantt chart can be viewed has increased in this new version. This enhanced view will specifically be helpful for projects, which span for a long duration. The Gantt chart can also be printed and exported as an image in various resolutions.
Along with personal editions, multi user editions of Project Planner are also available. The licenses range from 5 users (Home Office) to the unlimited licenses of Enterprise edition.
