In what is rapidly developing into an event of historic proportions, thousands of members of America's armed services; minority-, women- and veteran-owned businesses; diverse job seekers; and representatives from corporate America's elite will gather in Washington for the Diversity Military World Heritage Expo 2008 (DMWHE). The Expo, which will take place October 3-4, 2008, at the newly opened Gaylord National Hotel on the Potomac, will focus on the service of hundreds of thousands of people of color and women who unselfishly serve -- and have served -- our country.

The DMWHE theme, "Preserving Our Diverse Military Legacy, Saluting Our Troops, Building Wealth for the Future, reflects the three-fold purpose of this national event. "This event is long overdue. As veterans of color we've fought the good fight, now it's time to fight the right fight…our future generations," says Commander (USN-Ret.) Gregory Black, Chairman of the DMWHE National Planning Committee. "We want to honor the service contributions of people of color and women towards our national defense; to support and uplift our diverse service personnel -- especially those now serving in Iraq and Afghanistan; and to provide the necessary information for our veterans to successfully compete in today's marketplace."

Key events include a national diversity military job fair; youth heritage presentations; national awards banquet, which includes the DMWE Award for Outstanding Diverse Active Duty Personnel, the Madam C.J. Walker Award for Outstanding Business Achievement, and the DMWE 100 Awards for Outstanding Veteran-Friendly Corporations; education fair; business opportunity fair, gospel and Jazz concerts, seminars; and an all services military ball. There is even a golf tournament and a National Veterans Victory Walk.

"The Diversity Military World Expo is the catalyst for uniting diversity military service organizations, service members and families from all branches of service," says Dr. Taffy Wagner, also a member of the DMWHE Planning Committee. "Ephesians 4:16 states: From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work. The Diversity Military World Expo establishes this foundation for every joint supplies as each part does its work. It incorporates spiritual, physical, mental and academic components for all races, sexes, ages as well as occupations as each unit operates as designed, causing overall growth individually, corporately and throughout the generations," continues Dr. Wagner.

DMWHE Planning Committee member Paula Miller-Lester, publisher of MWIB magazine, says the Diversity Military World Expo provides a unique platform through which corporate America can tap into the nation's fastest growing and increasingly important demographic segment -- minorities, women and veterans -- while showing their support for our country's active military. "This is the perfect venue where qualified minority-, women- and veteran-owned businesses can network with corporations interested in doing business with them," says Miller-Lester. "Simply put, the Diversity Military World Expo will provide the environment and tools that attendees need to successfully compete in today's marketplace and build wealth for their families."

There has been overwhelming response from such stellar national diverse military organizations as the Tuskegee Airman, INC, Montford Point Marine Association and Blacks in Government.

To help ensure that the event is a success the DMWHE committee has tapped some of the nation's top resources including New York City-based Emerald E&S Inc., the DMWHE agency-of-record responsible for all promotions, strategic alliances and sponsorships. In addition, Corporate Gray, LLC is one of the nation's leaders in military job fairs will plan and implement the nation's military orientated diversity job fair.

The Diversity Military World Expo will take place October 3-4 2008 at the Gaylord National Hotel on the Potomac.
