The U.S. Soccer Foundation, the Major Charitable Arm of Soccer in the U.S. and industry leader in modular sports flooring join forces to expand playing opportunities for the grassroots soccer community.

The U.S. Soccer Foundation, the Major Charitable Arm of Soccer in the U.S., and Sport Court®, the industry leader in modular athletic flooring, today announced a three-year partnership. Sport Court® has joined the Foundation's Partners Resource Center as its Supplier for Futsal Surfaces.

As part of the Partner's Resource Center, Sport Court® will support the Foundation's annual Grants program, provide the Foundation's Grantees and Community Partners with expertise in planning and installing futsal playing surfaces, and will offer discounts to Foundation Grantees and Community Partners on modular sports surfaces used to build futsal facilities.

Futsal is a sport enjoying explosive growth worldwide, including in the U.S. This five-a-side version of soccer is played inside or outside, on a playing surface about the size of a basketball court, with a low-bounce ball that is heavier and smaller than a standard soccer ball. Futsal is extremely popular in South America and is often cited as the source of the creative and skillful style demonstrated by soccer players from South American countries such as Brazil.

In the U.S., soccer coaches are increasingly using futsal to develop the technical skills of their players and encourage more unstructured play. In addition, the smaller size of the playing surface makes it a great fit in urban communities where available space to build fields is limited. Sport Court® is the official surface for the Super F League, the national futsal league in the United States.

Sport Court® joins a notable list of soccer industry leaders assembled by the Foundation to provide expertise and discounted products and services to the grassroots soccer community. Sport Court® has been the industry leader in modular athletic flooring for over 30 years. With more than 50,000 installations worldwide, and the largest and most experienced network of authorized Dealers, Sport Court® delivers innovative, durable, high-performance solutions for a variety of sports and activities.

"We're pleased to be part of this vital athletic organization," said Ron Cerny, President of Connor Sport Court International, which is headquartered in Salt Lake City, UT. "Our experience and resources in providing futsal surfaces at the international level should be helpful to the U.S. Soccer Foundation as the sport continues to grow."

"Adding Sport Court to our team of soccer industry experts expands the Foundation's ability to support the game through our grants and field-building resources," said John Koskinen, President of the U.S. Soccer Foundation. "As we increasingly support the construction of smaller-sided pitches in urban and economically disadvantaged communities, the products and expertise provided by Sport Court will be important assets to the Foundation and our efforts to enrich lives through soccer."

In addition to Sport Court®, the Foundation's Partners Resource Center consists of the following leading companies in the soccer industry: Clough Harbour Sports (soccer facility design and planning), Eurosport (soccer equipment and uniforms), FieldTurf (synthetic grass soccer field surfaces), Hunter Industries (irrigation equipment), International Sports Images (digital media and photography), John Deere Landscapes (irrigation and landscape supplies), Kwik Goal (goals, nets, field equipment and mobile seating), Musco (sports lighting), TGI Systems (graphic signage), and The Toro Company (turfgrass maintenance equipment).
