CBX Announces First Student Design Contest - CBXtra Credit
The winning brand design will earn one student a paid summer '08 internship at New York-based brand and design consultancy, CBX.
New York, NY (PRWEB) March 19, 2008 -- While the top 10 contestants on American Idol battle it out, the search for the best student design talent begins.
Graphic design students from around the country will be invited this month to participate in CBXtra Credit, a design contest sponsored by CBX, one of the largest independent branding and design consultancies in the U.S., with offices in New York, Minneapolis, and San Francisco.
The contest invites students to design a line of fictional packaged goods products from a supplied design brief. Students will be judged on how well the design reflects the brief, the creativity of the design concepts, and how well the line holds together by a panel of CBX principals and designers.
Up to 10 finalists will be invited to present their work to the judges. Their presentation and thought process behind their designs will determine the Grand Prize Winner.
The winner will receive a paid summer internship at CBX and a posting of their winning submission on the CBX website, www.cbx.com. The contest commences March 27th, 2008, when full details and materials of the contest will be available at: www.cbx.com/studentcontest with a deadline for entries of midnight on April 24th. The winner will be announced on May 2nd, 2008.
"We are always on the lookout for fresh new talent and ways to champion the energy and aspirations of up and coming designers," says Rick Barrack, CBX Chief Creative Officer/Partner. "CBXtra Credit will allow us to give one deserving student an unprecedented opportunity to work alongside CBX's top designers on some of the biggest brands in the world." Barrack noted that CBX has a history of celebrating the achievements of student designers, as several past summer interns have subsequently been hired as employees.
CBX, founded in 2003, offers clients, including Johnson & Johnson, Del Monte, General Mills, Kimberly Clark and Stop & Shop Supermarkets, expertise in corporate branding, consumer packaged goods branding, and retail environments. In addition to its New York City headquarters, CBX has offices in San Francisco and Minneapolis and, with CBX Worldwide Partnership, operating offices in Santiago, Buenos Aires, Sao Paulo, Mexico City, Melbourne, Shanghai, London and Amsterdam.
