Sentinel Technologies is proud to announce it has been recognized by Crain's Chicago Business as one of the top 30 "Best Places To Work" in Chicago for 2008.

"This achievement speaks volumes to who we are as a company," says Brian Osborne, EVP of Sales & Marketing. "We're extremely proud to be recognized by Crain's, a Chicago business institution, with this distinction. Not only is this a direct reflection of how our employees feel about Sentinel's company culture, it's also a reflection of how we conduct business with prospects and clients."

Sentinel Technologies joins a distinguished group of Chicago area companies that made this year's list, including Google, Microsoft, McDonald's, KPMG, and Ernst & Young. "It's an honor to be recognized along side such outstanding organizations" added Osborne. "Many of these companies are recognized as not only some of the best companies to work for in Chicago, but amongst the best worldwide as well."

Thousands of local-area companies are eligible to be included in Crain's annual "Best Places to Work" list. The process starts with the applicant company completing an extensive survey measuring detailed information covering quantitative issues about pay, promotions, health care and other benefits, hiring practices and more.

An employee engagement survey deals with fairness of pay, vacation time, relationships with management and with co-workers and other issues about the day-to-day workplace. The surveys have a combined 162 questions and were completed by over 18,000 employees from applying companies.

"It's an honor to be recognized for our best practices" stated Penny Clancy, Sentinel's Director of Human Resources. "We continuously review our programs to meet the needs of our employee since they are our greatest asset."

Sentinel CEO Dennis Hoelzer added "Our employees are the key to helping us meet all of our objectives. We hire very talented people, challenge them to provide great service to our customers and reward them for doing an exceptional job. This recognition is reflective of the caliber of employees we have throughout the U.S."
