Speak Shop Forges Relationship with Ave Nicaraguita Spanish School in Nicaragua

Speak Shop, http://www.speakshop.com, a pioneer in fair trade online language tutoring via webcam, today announced a partnership with Ave Nicaraguita Spanish School to provide live Spanish tutoring with tutors based in Granada, Nicaragua.

Portland, OR (PRWEB) March 21, 2008 -- Speak Shop, http://www.speakshop.com, a pioneer in fair trade online language tutoring via webcam, today announced a partnership with Ave Nicaraguita Spanish School to provide live Spanish tutoring with tutors based in Granada, Nicaragua.

For the first time, Ave Nicaraguita's Spanish teachers are able to tutor people all over the world through the Internet. Using Speak Shop, they open and operate their own micro business teaching Spanish one-on-one. In many Latin American countries like Nicaragua, Spanish teachers offer a valuable service but struggle to make a living due to limited tourism and low wages. Teaching online provides tutors with the opportunity to learn new skills, become empowered micro-entrepreneurs and earn a living.

Speak Shop customers now have the option of taking Spanish from Guatemalan or Nicaraguan tutors. "Many people want to study Spanish abroad, but can't take the time or spend the money to do it," said Clay Cooper, Speak Shop Founder and CEO. "Now anyone with high speed Internet can log onto Speak Shop and meet face-to-face with a professional Spanish tutor living and working in their native country. Someone as far away as Japan can be virtually transported to Nicaragua for a lesson and learn not only the Spanish language, but also about the life and culture in that country."

Speak Shop and Ave Nicaraguita are helping the tutors learn new technology and business skills, and the school makes it possible for tutors to teach online by providing equipment and Internet access. "We are looking forward to our relationship with Speak Shop because it will be a good thing for Nicaraguans who face rampant work shortages," said Maria Lidia, Co-Founder of Ave Nicaraguita. "The Speak Shop system allows instructors to increase their work while working around their other responsibilities. It's a really great idea."

Ave Nicaraguita also offers in person lessons at several locations throughout Nicaragua. A socially conscious school, it provides a variety of on ground volunteer opportunities.

Ave Nicaraguita Co-founder, Sandra Espinoza, said, "I believe the relationship with Speak Shop is a great opportunity to create fair jobs for people in Nicaragua. It's also a great way for people to get to know Nicaragua and what a beautiful country it is. It provides people who want to learn Spanish with a very convenient service."
