The selection process used by SIOP to filter many hundreds of submissions into a tightly structured conference program is quite stringent, so having even one submission accepted is a significant achievement. Doing 30 presentations represents a massive commitment. It's an honor to have so many of our members invited to participate in this year's agenda.

PreVisor, a leader in employment assessments and selection solutions that connect hiring decisions to business results, today announced that a record number of top industrial-organizational psychology researchers from PreVisor and PDRI (a PreVisor company), will participate in more than 30 different sessions during the 23rd Annual Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology Conference, held in San Francisco, April 10-12, 2008.

PreVisor's combined team of over 45 I-O experts, including two past SIOP Presidents - Dr. Walter C. "Wally" Borman and Dr. Elaine Pulakos - will participate in panel and roundtable discussions, symposia, special events and poster sessions, bringing forward the company's industry-leading research on assessment and selection science in talent management. Some of the many topics include the implementation of selection systems, applying assessments across cultures, and increasing predictive accuracy beyond personality and cognitive ability.

"Congratulations to PDRI and the members of PreVisor's Content Development and Professional Services teams who were accepted to present at the 2008 Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) annual conference in 2008," said CEO Noel Sitzmann. "Serving our clients is closely tied to advances in the field of assessment science, and we strive to maintain a leadership position in this research. The depth and scope of our contributions to SIOP this year shows that we are delivering on that commitment with more success than ever, and that our teams' hard work continues to be recognized by their peers."

At the three-day conference, PreVisor research will be showcased in:

  • 12 symposia, including Computer Adaptive Testing (CAT) and best practices in front-line leader assessment and selection.
  • 7 panel and roundtable discussions, including language and culture issues, new I-Os in business, and issues in internet assessment.
  • 11 poster presentations, including research on mentoring relationships and assessing test bias.
  • A special event, "Connecting Education to Practice", featuring Wally Borman.

Presenting on the subject of "I-O Innovations in Intelligence and Defense" will be Dr. Pulakos, Chief Operating Officer of PDRI, who remarks that "Creating innovations in talent management and assessment that can be put to use by organizations to help accomplish their missions - whether in the private or public sector - is at the very heart of what SIOP and this field are about. It's also very much the goal that PreVisor and PDRI have used to measure their success. Judging by the strength of the research presented this year, I think that our team and our professional colleagues can be justifiably proud of their achievements."

Mike Fetzer, Ph.D., VP of Content Development, added, "The selection process used by SIOP to filter many hundreds of submissions into a tightly structured conference program is quite stringent, so having even one submission accepted is a significant achievement. Doing 30 presentations represents a massive commitment. It's an honor to have so many of our members invited to participate in this year's agenda."

The full list of presentations is available on the SIOP Conference website and will be posted in PreVisor's exhibit booth at the conference.
