Pigma Sepia pens give an old masters feel to sketches, and the ink permanency means the work will last throughout the years
Hayward, Ca (PRWEB) March 27, 2008
In the current business environment product knock-offs are commonplace, and time tested quality takes a back seat to the trendiest item. In a move that is reminiscent of a bygone era, Sakura of America held onto traditional approaches to product development. The company listens to their customers and directs their research lab to continually investigate ingredients to improve existing products. Today, Sakura of America (Sakura) announces a new four piece pen set Pigma® Sepia, and a new ink formulation for the Gelly Roll® Metallic ink pens.
The Pigma Sepia set was created by Sakura in response to consistent customer requests for sepia colored ink in a variety of line types. Sepia is a color preference of artists because it gives a warm tone to sketched images. "Pigma Sepia pens give an old masters feel to sketches, and the ink permanency means the work will last throughout the years," comments Susan Tilton Pecora, a watercolor artist of Thorndike, MA, host of New England PBS watercolor shows, and lecturer at Springfield Museums. "I begin all of my work on location and since Pigma Sepia is portable and versatile, I am ready to go. The fine lines of the Micron pens allow for exquisite detail. Heavier lines of the graphic pen are possible, while the brush pen provides bold shapes and broad washes of color," adds Pecora.
While Gelly Roll Metallic had a unique sheen, Sakura's research lab had a quest to create an ink that had the reflective qualities of real gold. Sakura's researchers discovered a new raw material ingredient, reformulated the Metallic ink, and tested for twenty-four months. For each Metallic color there is an intricate balance of ingredients. This balance needs to be maintained for optimal color and shine. Each ink color was tested to insure the quality, shelf life, and correct formulation balance.
The new Metallic formulation produces a shiny brilliant ink. "The new gold ink is a truer gold tone. The metallic ink upgrade is brighter with a vivid reflective sheen. With ink that's ice cream smooth® and a palette of fourteen fabulous colors, it's impossible to choose a favorite," states Judi Kauffman, nationally known author, designer, and teacher.
