Almost a year ago, on July 1, 2007, all of the world watched and cried with Saaphyri Windsor as she made history by becoming the first ever VH1'S "CHARM SCHOOL" winner. And now, almost a year later Saaphyri is still bringing tears of joy and appreciation to the world.
Chicago Sun Times news provider THE HERALD featured an article which highlighted a group of young girls who have started a club called, "G.C." which is short for "Girls Club". The article stated how the "Girls Club" was on a mission to assist others who are in need around the world. One of the "Girls Club" missions was to help 150 of U.S. Troops serving in Afghanistan by providing them with Lip chap to help offset some of the pain the troops suffer from wind damage.
The news of this article reached reality television star Saaphyri Windsor and she promptly insisted on donating the full amount of lip chaps needed in order to fulfill the U.S. Infantry Troops needs. Saaphyri was quoted saying, "Our troops are doing a great job and I will be more than happy to give a generous donation of "Saaphyri Lip Chaps" to them."
The word of this reached the young members of the "Girls Club" and they where filled with joy that Saaphyri would be so generous. The "Girl Club" leader was put in touch with Ms. Windsor to thank her for the large donation.
