This is a great way to support the community
Irving, TX (PRWEB) March 26, 2008
First Choice Power is helping 100 Texans take their General Education Development Tests (GED).
The First Choice Power GED Scholarship will give qualified customers and community members wishing to get their GED an opportunity to do so. First Choice Power GED scholarships are available at Galveston College and Cypress Fairbanks ISD.
"At First Choice Power, we know that a GED can open doors for higher education, jobs and promotions," said Michael Swart, vice president of marketing, "We want to help open those doors."
The GED scholarship is one of the many First Choice Power community programs that focuses on education and economic vitality in the communities it serves.
"The goal of the First Choice Power GED Scholarship program is to help our customers and community members achieve their educational and career goals in efforts to enhance their quality of life," Swart said.
First Choice Power partnered with the Texas Education Agency to offer the GED scholarships at testing centers across the state.
"This is a great way to support the community," said Paris-Ealy, GED state administrator. "It's an opportunity to provide additional training, further education, and job advancement for First Choice Power customers. For others in the community, it is simply the proof they need to validate the importance of education for themselves, their families, and their community. We appreciate First Choice Power being a leader in helping the community take advantage of this GED opportunity."
