Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 27, 2008
The BAM Radio Network (BRN), a joint project of Moving & Learning and Jackstreet Media, announces an agreement with the Family Home Foundation and the Children's Way Foundation to launch Woogi World Radio. The new channel is featured as a parent resource at http://www.woogiworld.com, a site that teaches young children and their parents the dos and don'ts of the Internet within a safe, controlled environment. Woogi World Radio will nanocast BRN's premier program, Body, Mind and Child (http://www.bodymindandchild.com), hosted by Rae Pica, a 30-year veteran in the field of early childhood education. The program offers insightful discussions with the nation's leading experts on the issues parents and teachers care about most.
"The Internet opens up a whole new world of possibilities to our children. The downside is that the Internet also can promote sedentary behavior," said Rae Pica. "Woogi World is a great tool to help children and parents deal with this challenge because it encourages children to get out of the virtual world and into the real world. We're confident that Woogi World Radio will help enhance this mission."
Woogi World VP Eric Clare states, "We believe a better educated parent is more likely to participate in offline activities with their children. An educated parent will understand why we are doing what we are doing and as a result be more likely to help in the process of effectively 'growing' their child. Toward that goal, we see a partnership between Woogi World and BAM Radio as a service we can provide to our highly motivated parents."
About Woogi World
Woogi World™ is a joint venture of the Family Home Foundation, a 501(c)3 organization, and the Children's Way Foundation. Both organizations are dedicated to helping kids achieve balanced living--teaching kids to use the Internet as a resource to build family strength and serve in the community. Woogi World™ educates, motivates, and engages children, but more importantly encourages them to get off the Internet often and participate in the real world.
Woogi World™ teaches children the dos and don'ts of the Internet, which can be easily supplemented by involved parenting. Woogi World™ also provides kids practice for common Internet scenarios and even real-time coaching for those moments when problems arise--all within a safe, controlled environment.
About BAM Radio Network
The BAM Radio Network was launched to address the severe imbalance in parenting practices caused by the "commercialization of parenting" and the emphasis on intellectual development that excludes the critical role of the mind/body connection in early childhood. Created by leading early childhood experts, the programming challenges the popular genre of parenting notions that has given rise to commercial products like Baby Einstein, Brainy Baby and lapware, all of which claim to accelerate a child's mental development in the face of science that suggests otherwise. The network is a joint venture between New Hampshire-based Moving & Learning and Los Angeles-based Jackstreet Media Ventures LLC. The program is distributed through the Affiliate Nanocasting Network.
