New book, "Bite Size Ministry: Volunteerism in the 21st Century Church", encourages Christians to take responsibility for their churches.

Gloria B. Murray never had the desire or unction to write a book. But that all changed when, one night, God dropped a profound message into her heart and she sat at her computer and allowed the words to flow. "Bite Size Ministry: Volunteerism in the 21st Century Church" (paperback, 978-1-60477-655-3), her debut book which was just newly released to bookstores, will help church members realize it is their responsibility to help their church grow and accomplish its vision. Additionally, it is an excellent resource for ministers to use to work effectively with volunteers and avoid a sabotage of their ministry.

Says Murray, "The book is an easy read, yet it is a thought-provoking challenge to your life. The church desperately needs volunteers. Too many people are giving too much and paying the cost while others are doing nothing. We need a balance in the church so we can all enjoy this journey with Christ. It is impossible to read this book and not look at what you are--or are not--doing to fulfill the Great Commission Christ gave the church."

For Murray, experience was the best teacher; more than 20 years of volunteering and working in ministries opened her eyes to the realization that ministers, volunteers, and congregants must assume more responsibility within their churches. "The years of ministry and serving have provided me a well of experience to draw from that I believe God shaped into wisdom to share with others," the author says.
