Dennis William O'Keefe was born and raised in Southern California, living in Texas twice. He holds a B.A. in journalism with a creative writing minor from California State University, Chico.
His hobbies include blues guitar, martial arts practice, and golf. He now lives in Eugene, Oregon with his wife, Lynn and his black Lab, Maximus. He has traveled extensively in Ireland and England, and before retirement worked for GTE as a high-speed data tester.
