PebbleArt designers create a new line of mantel clocks using natural slate, sandstone, and marble.

PebbleArt has just released a series of new designs into their line of natural stone mantel clocks. The pieces are carved, cut, shaped, and formed, by local New York based artists, using imported slate, sandstone, and marble. These recent additions feature a greater depth of pattern, and tend to reflect more profoundly on the artists emotions than earlier models.

The mantel clocks are the union of American art and skill, with natural materials which are imported into the country from around the world. Designers such as Minerva Stone, Jon J. and Joseph Lewis collaborated to develop this line, with help and support from the PebbleArt studio.

According to contributing artist Joseph Lewis this line "represents the next level of development in the union of nature and the human imagination." Compared to earlier clock designs these feature more complex patterns, intricate details, and a willingness by the artists to put their personal mark on the pieces. This means that the clocks represent more powerful emotions, and the designs reflect that.

The materials used in the clocks are a variety of slate, sandstone, and marble materials with a few quartzite and granite elements woven into the mix. While the work is all done in America, the stone is actually imported from a variety of countries including India, China, Brazil, and Turkey. Most of the stone used is in either tile or slab form, with the surface gauged to provide linear lines for the artists to work with.

PebbleArt is testing the clocks on their art and design site at http://PebbleZ.com Based on public reaction in the coming months the company plans to make certain models available for widespread distribution through wholesale and retail channels.
