West Simsbury, CT (PRWEB) March 29, 2008
WebAward08.org - The Web Marketing Association, host of leading web site awards competition WebAwards, released the Internet Standards Assessment Report (ISAR) to help the restaurant industry learn to create more effective and engaging web sites.
"As the standard of excellence for web sites continues to increase, consumers (and WebAward judges) are increasingly picky about what they consider to be an effective web site," said William Rice, president of the Web Marketing Association, Inc. "Restaurant Web sites are enhancing the customers experience even before they step into the restaurant. Web sites are creating the environment that the user will experience if he or she visits the restaurant which reflects in the high design scores of this industry. Content such as online reservations, directions, nightly menus are just some of the added value restaurant Web sites are offering their online users."
The WebAwards competition judges restaurant web sites on seven criteria that combined create award-winning web sites:
- Ease of use
Restaurant Web sites have matched the overall ISAR index for the past three years. Prior to this they demonstrated up and down performance relative to the index. Restaurant Web sites equaled the criteria benchmark averages for design and ease of use, but fell below the benchmarks in all other areas. Restaurant sites are strong in design and ease of use where they equal the 5-year criteria benchmark average. They also post strong scores in copywriting and content.
The 2007 WebAward for Best Restaurant Web site went to Avatar New York LLC for Mr. Broadway Kosher Restaurant.
Other past winners include:
- 2006 E-Site Marketing for Montage Studio
- 2005 Apollo Interactive, Inc. for Johnny Rockets
- 2004 NetSuccess for Mercy Wine Bar
- 2003 Brann for Roy's Hawaiian Fusion
- 2002 Stone Ward Fusebox for TCBY
