Mobile Metrics announces upcoming release of WiMAX protocol analyzer

Mobile Metrics announced the May availability of the AirScan 750, a protocol analyzer specifically designed to monitor numerous WiMAXTM interfaces.

Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) March 31, 2008 - Mobile Metrics announced the May availability of the AirScan 750, a protocol analyzer specifically designed to monitor numerous WiMAXTM interfaces.

The AirScan 750 captures and decodes WiMAX traffic on R1, R3, R4, R6 and R8 interfaces. In the second half of 2008, an LTE variant of the AirScan system will be released, as well as an enhancement to the AirScan 750 to provide GPS correlated coverage maps as well as R5 tracing support.

A related contribution made by Mobile Metrics last fall was an enhancement to Wireshark® giving it the capability of tracing WiMAX traffic on the R6, R4 and R3 interfaces; Wireshark is a free network protocol analyzer heavily used throughout the industry.
