Lifelong Salesman Takes His Business Online with Marine Accessories Plus

Robert Winsel was a professional salesman for many years, but the Internet has given him the opportunity to find a wider audience with his new store, www.MarineAccessoriesPlus.com.

(PRWEB) March 30, 2008 -- Robert Winsel was a professional salesman for many years, but the Internet has given him the opportunity to find a wider audience with his new store, www.MarineAccessoriesPlus.com.

"I've been a salesman all my life, and traveling had gotten to be just a hassle," explains Robert Winsel, owner of the new marine supply store www.MarineAccessoriesPlus.com. "I used to travel coast to coast, then I cut down to just California, then just southern California, and even that was a hassle. One day I got on the freeway and knew I couldn't do that anymore. I sat down and considered it, then got in front of a computer. I started surfing the Internet and looking at web sites, and I thought, 'You know, a web site is a good idea.'"

With his background in sales, Robert was easily able to figure out how to capture the attention of his market, but he needed a product. For that, he looked to his favorite hobby. "I've been a boater all my adult life," he explains. "I have a boat, my daughter was involved in boating, and now she and her husband and my 2 grandkids are involved in boating. I think it's one of the best family things you can do -- it's almost like a family that boats together, stays together. I really look at it as a family fun activity."

To keep the new business going, Robert has balanced the importance of good customer service and great selection. He has implemented a new blog at www.MarineAccessoriesPlus.net, allowing his customers to get to know him and his business, and has worked to develop good relations with suppliers in order to find the best products. "I'm choosing items that I always need," he says. "Every boater's going to have problems, and they'll need replacement products like these at a fair price. If you go to a brick and mortar store they really get you on the price."

Robert is currently adding new products daily, and working hard to give his customers options that are not only affordable but also sound. "Right now I'm adding more props and more sizes," he says. "Tomorrow I'm going to add some more audio stuff. I plan on doing something with this site almost every day. I want to have as many green products on there as I can, for example -- I want to be environmentally 'good.' "
