Greenplum Adds Two New Execs to Management Team
Frank Bien joins leading database company as VP of Business Development, Greg Augenstein joins as VP of Professional Services.
San Mateo, CA (PRWEB) March 31, 2008 -- Greenplum, a leading provider of database software for business intelligence, today announced that it has added two new executives to the management team. Frank Bien has joined the company as vice president of Business Development, where he will be responsible for global strategic alliances. Greg Augenstein has joined the company as vice president of Professional Services, where he will lead a range of customer-focused services that ensure successful data warehouse deployments.
Bien brings to Greenplum nearly two decades of experience in enterprise software, compliance and security and professional services, serving both the commercial as well as government sectors. Bien was most recently part of the senior executive team at compliance-focused data warehousing company SenSage, where he was vice president of Product Management and Business Development. Prior to SenSage, Bien served as vice president of Collaboration Solutions for Vignette Corporation, where he drove the sales and distribution efforts for two key product lines. Prior to Vignette, he was vice president of Business Development at Intraspect, where he was responsible for all strategic alliances, OEMs, and other channel efforts and also built and led professional services, customer support, and pre-sales consulting. Previously, Bien managed national sales, system consulting and engineering groups at Dell Computer, and held several positions in IT strategy with TRW, the Federal Reserve Bank, and the U.S. Court of Appeals.
Augenstein is a senior operations executive with nearly twenty years of experience and a strong record of building world-class services capabilities for rapidly growing enterprise software companies. He was previously vice president of Professional Services at Virsa Inc., which was recently acquired by SAP. Augenstein led the professional services team at Virsa through a period when Virsa grew from $2 million per quarter to over $25 million per quarter. He has also served in a leadership capacity in consulting and alliances at several other software companies, including DiCarta, Interwoven, and Dexterra. Prior to transitioning to the enterprise software industry, Augenstein was a senior consultant at Booz Allen, Hamilton. Prior to Booz Allen, he worked as an avionics engineer at Honeywell Commercial Avionics group.
