Ms. Sirková describes her reaction when she received the congratulatory phone call. "I had no idea when I registered on the site that my wedding day would become such a big deal," laughed Ms. Sirková alongside fiancé Hakeem Smith. "I was simply signing up to look around and get some ideas for what we could do for our wedding, but it has been such a great way to announce our big day to… what turns out to be the whole world!"
Ms. Sirková and Mr. Smith met through mutual friends in Cary, North Carolina and became engaged on December 25, 2006 in the bride's hometown of Bardejov, Slovak Republic. Most of the bride's immediate family will be traveling to the U.S. from Bardejov to join the couple at their Topsail Beach ceremony. Ms. Sirková's younger brother, Milan Sirka who serves in the Slovakian military, will be unable to attend the ceremony since he will be training for deployment to serve in Afghanistan this summer.
