Professional Ice Hockey Special Floor Mat Problem Solved by Martinson-Nicholls

The Cleveland Monsters hockey team needed large, non-slip floor matting to go over ice for a performance by a world-famous cheerleading squad. The floor matting needed to be much larger than anything readily available, not move on the ice, and be laid down and rolled up quickly. Martinson-Nicholls custom carpet matting fulfilled their need.

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) April 1, 2008 -- Greg Prymicz, Corporate Partnership consultant for the Lake Erie Monsters, Cleveland's new AHL professional ice hockey team had a pressing problem and needed help. The Monsters had a world famous cheerleading squad coming to Quicken Loans Arena to perform at intermission of an important game and thus were required by the group to provide a special floor mat for their routines at center ice. According to Greg, "I had an immediate need, and a quick turn around to provide the best floor mat possible. Luckily I came across www.floormat.com. To my relief the Martinson-Nicholls Company had the exact solution for our organization."

I had an immediate need, and a quick turn around to provide the best floor mat possible. Luckily I came across www.floormat.com. To my relief the Martinson-Nicholls Company had the exact solution for our organization.
Dan Ruminski, President of Martinson-Nicholls met with Greg about 40 days before the big event. A 30' by 40' carpet, vinyl backed, non slip mat was required; one that would not move while it was on the ice. The mat needed to roll up easily for the Monsters building crew had exactly four minutes for set up and even less time for tear down. The mat had to be burgundy in color and have an aggressive, anti-slip surface. "Dan brought a sample floor mat to our first meeting of exactly what we were looking for," quoted Greg. "He also created the budget number we needed to make this work."

The carpet matting initially came in 6' X 60' rolls. These rolls then needed to be fabricated into the needed 30' X 40' mat by Martinson-Nicholls. Their new seaming process allows them to create almost any size mat and easily ship it to all parts of the country. A combination of special glue and seaming tape are key to this process. To create a consistent color, Martinson-Nicholls orders all material from the same color run.

The combination of this carpet matting and Martinson-Nicholl's new seaming process makes it possible to create large mats for a variety of commercial properties, including resorts, restaurants, and hospitals.

The Friday before the Saturday game Dan and his crew arrived at Quicken Loans Arena to assemble seven pieces of floor matting into a single 30' X 40' mat. "To my amazement," quoted Greg, "I met Dan at our loading dock, showed him our work area, then left for two hours, only to return to one stunning 30' X 40' burgundy mat. Allowing some four hours for the mat glue to dry, the mat was ready for our crew to begin rehearsal of set up for the next day's game. All went extremely well. The game day was a great success, the cheerleaders were happy and my job was made a bit easier thanks to Martinson-Nicholls and Floormat.com."

"We here at Quicken Loans Arena home of the Lake Erie Monster and the Cleveland Cavaliers will now use Martinson-Nicholls for our entire floor matting needs. We are also looking at their heated indoor and outdoor products for the arena," added Greg Prymicz.
